Why do
I need a domain?
The domain name is how people will
reach your web site. It will also make them remember
your name as they type it to reach your website.
Remember the easier it is to remember your domain,
the more visitors to your site.
Why do I have to pay extra
for hosting?
Now that you have your domain, you need a place
to keep it. Look at it as a phone number, it’s
just a phone number unless the phone company comes
out and hooks you into their system. No one can
call you unless you are hooked up to his or her
system. Same type of thing, your domain name is
just a name until you hook it up to a “host”
to make it work so people can access it.
Why do I have to pay for
my domain every year or two?
The Internet is not free. It takes a lot of time
and money to bring you the latest technologies so
you can do more and more with the Internet. Making
you register your domain insures that no one else
can take your name, and also makes the Internet
a marketable place.
Why do I see ads for free
domain renewal or free web space?
If you look into these ads and check into it more,
or ever look at a site on their free web space,
you will see that the site as many advertisement
pop up’s, or banners. These are annoying to
surfers and make your site slow to load.
What if I don’t renew?
Unfortunately we cannot incur the cost of renewing
everyone’s domain and hosting. If renewal is
not made, someone else could take your domain, and
your hosting through us will be discontinued. That
means your web site would be unavailable.
What if I chose another
hosting program or company?
Unfortunately the programming behind our updateable
sites is intense and not available on just any server.
It is programmed specifically for us. It can't be
hosted from any other server than ours.
What if I already paid
my hosting and domain name through someone else?
Contact us and we will work with you on this matter.
I know nothing about computers
and don't think I can update or build my own website,
how do I get a standard website?
We have made every attempt to making this program
easy to update, however we understand that not everyone
can or has the time to build their own website or
keep it updated. We offer nominal fees to set up
and update your website for you depending on what
you need. Although we would love to be able to personally
train every client, it is geographically impossible.
We feel that for the same amount of time you would
invest in just learning how to use our program,
you could invest the same amount of time into a
local class on computers and learn many other aspects
to the computer. We can even help you find a class
in your area that is right for you.
Is there a difference between
www.MyNameHere.com or www.mynamehere.com?
No, today's browsers are not case sensitive, so
regardless of what case the user enters your domain
in the address field, they will access your website.
